Background: Hello, we are Martine and Laurence Christie and we want to share our love for the great outdoors with your children!

Over the last 15 years we have been operating Greenleaf our Tree Surgery and Landscaping business, in and around the local area.

Since having a family of our own, we have spent many happy hours in the great outdoors with our little ones, and are always amazed and inspired by their curiosity for the natural environment.

From these beginnings and desire to share our love of nature with our own children, our vision for Forest School was born. After training with the Northern Ireland Forest School Association, Martine gained her Level 3 Forest School Practitioner qualification. Laurence is a qualified Tree Surgeon.

Forest School setting: We were very fortunate to gain access to a forgotten woodland in the heart of Spa, County Down. It had been neglected since the Second World War, and was completely overgrown. This made an ideal place for us to set up camp for our Forest School, as it was teeming with wildlife and birds. After a few months of hard work clearing brambles, creating paths and beating back overgrowth, we were able to make the forest accessible again, opening it up for us to explore. We hope to work with local schools, nurseries, children s groups, and also run a series of classes over the summer open to all Primary aged children.
